Simulating the Moss Peat Case presented in Paper "Thermochemical conversion of biomass..." by G. Rein and Huang, 2016

Dear GPyro users,

following the workbook infos, we have tried to simulate the peat smouldering case described in the paper “Thermochemical conversion of biomass in smouldering combustion across scales: The roles of heterogeneous kinetics, oxygen and transport phenomena”, Bioresource Technology, 2016. Unfortunately, we could not reproduce the same results.

As a first approach, we’ve tried to simulate the case with moss peat. Using the same kinetic schemes and boundary conditions of the paper, the temperature of the upper layer increases no higher than 260 C and therefore there is no propagation of the smoldering front to the lower layers.

Could you be so kind and take a look on our setup file, (see attached file) and give us some comments?

Perhaps, you did not convert the pre-exponential factor (A). Please check the appendix of the paper. One of my input file is attached for your reference.
