Hi,

I have GPSVP 0.4.20 installed on an AT&T branded "Tilt 2" - HTC Tyn II
device. I have an unlimited data plan.

GPS functionality works fine from COM4:, however I have not been
successful in downloading map tiles from any of the default map server
options.

Steps I've taken:
Turned off the Garmin maps
Set Raster Cache Folder (set to a storage card location via registry)
Enabled Raster Downloading

I also enabled the DebugMode flag in the registry

So with DebugMode enabled, I start the app, get a GPS fix, but do not
get any data. On screen, gpsVP displays the URL of the tile server it
is trying to hit. If I change to the Live (Bing) Maps option, it hunts
between various server names (quickly - once per second).

Seems like gpsVP is not seeing my data connection. I've tried using
WiFi, browsing internet before / while gpsVP is trying to connect.

I've yet to see any data transfer statistics in the Monitors screen
(down / up / total all show 0)

Any guidance would be appreciated on how to troubleshoot this further!

Hello, Smitty,

The only thing you've not mentioned is you have checked
"Menu->Setup->Allow internet connection->Never" item. Change it to
"Home network only" or "Always".

Vitaly,

I am an idiot!

I didn't see that I could scroll to the other menu items on the Setup
menu!!

Switched it to Always and it works fine.

Thanks for the quick reply - hopefully this will help others that are
just getting started with the mobile app.
