GPSTest (beta Version: v3.10.0 (24094-google))
Samsung Galaxy S23, Model: SM-S911U, GNSS HW Year: 2018, Platform: 13, API Level: 33

Good morning Sean,

I've been combing through folders on my phone looking for where GPSTest's log files have been written without any success. Your help file (https://github.com/barbeau/gpstest/blob/master/LOGGING.md#logging-data-to-files), which by the way might benefit with a post-scoped storage update, indicates

"Files are saved to your Android device storage under the gnss_log directory."

This no longer appears to be true for at least my Android test device.

During some of this morning's test, this notice, albeit incomplete:

truncated path notice to storage.png

The path is truncated and it's unclear where to look.

Looking at the parent folder shows 0 files and 0 directories:

nothing here to see.png
I've ticked every box I could for logging in GPSTest including Android Studio; however, I have not yet installed Android Studio. Though I'm not an app developer, I thought that perhaps these files that are intended for Android Studio might help me in understanding what the OS is able to request and what the device is able to provide. These Android Studio files also can't be found on my phone in addition to the other log files with checked boxes.

Thank you very much for all of your work on GPSTest (beta Version: v3.10.0 (24094-google))!

Kind regards,

Kelly

Dir gnss_log/ is changed to
      \Internal storage\Android\data\com.android.gpstest\files\gnss_log
   and now we get:
   << due to android restriction
the content of this folder can only be
      shown on a computer >>
   Seems a restricted area
You have to plug the phone USB to your PC to access this dir and your logs

So ...confusing...     This place is where all apps have their settings ?

You can use also 'gnsslogger' by Google it can also create rinex files
(don't know if usable for PPP)    Logs now are in:
        \Internal storage\download\

Thank you for this workaround. After borrowing a USB-to-USBC cable from my wife, I was able to locate the GPSTest folder...

...and files. But what I had forgotten about (from 2 years ago, or mis-remembered) was the single file actually contains all shuffled together several disparate files - see attached example of this mash-up. For some reason, I thought that this was fixed, and GPSTest was producing discrete RINEX files, NMEA files, etc. instead of one big'ol bag of files.

GPSTest doesn't provide RINEX directly, but you're right, all the other records are mixed in one txt file.

In GnssLogger, RINEX and NMEA are output separately, and then the remaining records are mixed in one txt file.

"GNSS HW Year: 2018"

This was apparently a bug somehow. Since after newest update here on my S22U it says GNSS HW Year: 2020.

It did say 2018 before.
