I think this is a new bug since 4.5.5 was released. It only started in the past week or so.
To reproduce:
1. go to "all streams"
2. pull down the menu at top left and click the round () button to start recording
3. click the track entry to display the screen that shows 3 panels:
(a) start, end, duration, etc.
(b) a map
(c) "add a messsage"
4 now click the map to see a larger version
5. while viewing the map, swipe left to return to the previous screen
6. at this point, GPSE fails in either of 2 ways:
(a) it stops recording (square stop button changes to round start button indicating it has stopped)
(b) the screen flashes and it returns to the list of "all streams". The track that was being recorded is still listed, but it is no longer recording
For case (b), I think GPSE must be throwing a silent exception that terminates the recording process.
After a few incidents like this, Android tells me the app keeps stopping and invites me to close it, send feedback, etc.
BTW, when I click to see the large map, it is stretched vertically. It reverts to a proper aspect ratio if I just pinch it a bit. I'm using the detault "portable maps". This is a minor problem - the stoppage when I return from the large map is more serious. I lost a whole day's track because I didn't notice it had stopped.
