Hello,
last week I started a new track at 15:13 CEST. It is correctly presented in the name Track-160503-151311. However, in the Start time appeared 2:13:01 PM CEST, what is incorrect. It was 3:13:01 CEST or 2:13:01 CET. I have set automatic time setting in my device, now it is CEST. Is it a bug in the GPS Essentials or some problem in my device?
Thanks.
Peter.

GPS Essentials stores all times as UTC internally, which is time zone agnostic. When it comes to rendering the time, it uses the current settings of the device. (The track name will be formatted once when you create the track using the settings at this point in time.)

Is there a discrepancy between the local time (as shown in the notification bar) and the track start time?

Michael,
now I started a new track at 19:38 (CEST). You can see on screenshot that the track start/end time is incorrect, there is 6:38 PM CEST, however it should be 7:38 CEST.

Did you configure daylight saving manually? Can you export the track as KML or GPX and post it here. I would like to look into the file and see what the raw time stamp (in UTC) looks like.

Michael,
I have automatic (network ptovided) time setting.
Several minutes ago I recorded a short track, it is attached, as well as the according screenshot.
Peter.

It pretty much looks like your GPS receiver is reporting a wrong time. The offset from UTC to CEST is currently +2h. The first track point reports 2016-05-15T10:15:45.000Z as its time stamp. This would be 12:15CEST. If your local time is actually 13:15CEST, then the reported GPS time is wrong. The interesting thing is that the track name is good: Track-160515-131540 because this is based on the device clock, not GPS.

I'm not sure what I can do to fix this, GPS is time zone agnostic in general so you cannot adjust anything.

Michael,
so it looks like some bug somewhere in the GPS chipset/firmware of my device. It is well possible, it is a cheap chinese Honor 3C.
Thanks for your effort.
Peter.
