Hi Michael;

Your is obviously a fantastic app with a lot of potential but is not intuitive (at least to me) and the manual lacks specific steps on how to do things and does not display all the various screens with their icons and tools - for simpletons like me. After hours of trying I cannot get a route created.

So I have a route with yellow triangular turn signs and a purple line displayed on Portable Maps and waypoints and turn directions shown in Waypoints but when I go to Routes it says ¨no route elements¨. Isn´t that a route that I created? How do I get that info into Routes?

Other related questions:
Since you mention that the route service will continue to run after turning off the phone can it be stopped?
What are the ways to ¨set a target¨?  I can only find one via the compass page. When I tap on a WP pin icon on the map I get no pop-up menu like described in the manual.

Consider giving a step by step example of setting up a route in the manual.

Thanks for any help. I look forward to using your impressive app.

Fred

I agree the manual needs to see some improvements, but I never found a technical writer who is willing to work for honor and glory :-)

If you tap on tracks, you get to the current route which is probably not the one you want to see. Tap on the icon on the top left corner to get to the route list, then select the route you want to see.

The route service stops when you stop the route, e.g. pause in route view. You'll notice the arrow in the notification bar disappearing then.

Cheers, Michael

Wow; a quick response. That helped.

Nah, you don´t need a technical writer. Just list the steps but don´t leave any out.
I am getting no popup menu tapping on map waypoint icons.
I still wonder what the ways to ¨set a target¨ are?

Thanks.

And no, the routing arrow does not disappear from the notification area upon hitting Stop.
I finally just forced closed the app.

nope, the routing arrow does not leave the notification area upon hitting Stop. I finally had to force close the app.

Well, that's a bug then. What happens if you start a route and then immediately stop it?
