Dashboard fails to update following startup

I've been using this wonderful tool for several years now. Unfortunately, now when I start it, it updates the data in the dashboard one time only. I have gone through the settings and can't find a setting that causes the dashboard to be updated at a periodic rate (for example, the clocks do not update from the time they displayed following startup).

Any directions to rectify this problem will be appreciated.
