Two issues relating to two sets of photographs from different days work.

The issue with the first set is when I import the photos to DCIM file and transfer onto computer (Windows) the properties tab for the photo does not display the GPS section containing photo coordinates. Is there a way to display this information or source in using the time and date info? The photos display on Google Maps within the app in correct locations but different programs have displayed the message no geotag information. Is there a way to solve this issue?

Second related issue is for another batch of photos, coordinates do display but when using an program to Geotag the photos-(Expert GPS) the photos display in completely different area from where they were taken. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue or how to amend this so the photos display in the correct location?

On a side note my licence for Expert GPS has expired and the free trail is only valid for 5 days, any recommendations for a program which I can import and geotag photos with and export as a file type which will be compatible with GIS?

I would appreciate any feedback on this issue have been stuck for a few days-Thanks!

Not sure what you mean with DCIM files. GPS Essentials only geotags the photos that you actually take with GPS Essentials. If you take a picture using the camera app, GPS Essentials will do nothing. There are people who match GPS locations by matching the time code from an exported track and the time code of the picture. This way, you can use the camera app (or even a different camera) and still have Exif data in your final pictures. Maybe somebody can chime in who did this in the past and tell us how to accomplish this.

Thank for this Michael,

I don't think I was very clear in my original post, the photos were taken using the camera app in GPS Essentials, however to transfer the files to my computer I did this by saving the photos to the DCIM folder (with Share-ES Save To) and accessed the photos this way on my computer. After looking further at the using the properties of the photographs are missing date and time information. Because of this I am having great difficulty in geotagging the images. I'm not sure if the data did not record or if it is hidden somewhere.

Regards, Caitriona

Hmm, that's unexpected. What do you have checked under Save Image Meta Data in settings?

You tap on the wrench on the start screen.
