I've used this app to record my bike tracks for years, Since upgrading to version 4.5.28 on my Samsung s10+ android v12, It has stopped recording my tracks with no errors that I see.

It finds the satellites and lets me create new track as normal, but doesn't record the track????

TIA,
Billy

This has been reported several times for this version but unfortunately it seems it's proving difficult to find a solution. For now I have uninstalled and reverted back to version 4.5.24 which, although it has the <rtept> bug when exporting, does at least record tracks normally.

Cheers,
Martin

Dear community,
GPS-E worked brilliant troughout the years, now suddenly stopping tracking as described in many other posts.
I'd like to add some more details from last insights last weekend:
- after starting application and switching to satelllite tab, GPS-E quite quickly finds numerous satellites and get's a FIX position
- when switching from satellites view/tab into any other tab (dashboard, streams, setting, ....), the location icon in the status bar of my Samsung Galaxy A32 disappears
- this occurs despite GPS-E is still open/active and the screen is not logged
- as soon as switching back to satellites tab, the location icon re-appears and more or less quickly the FIX position is back and new tracking points are added to the current stream

This behaviour - location icon disappearing/re-appearing - is quite similar to activating map applications and shuting them down.
Except in the GPS-E situation, the application is active all the time.

Also on my device, putting exception from deep-sleep for GPS-E even deactivating power down modes completely doesn't change the behaviour.

Hope that observation/description helps.
Best regards,
Pepito

Please always add the version of GPS Essentisls and Android in all conversation!

I added location permission checks to the satellite view, quite possible this broke spmething. I'll do some more testing. In the mean time, validate that you granted background location permissions to GPS Essentials. Otherwise, tracking will most probably stop some time after you switch off your display.
