Hello,

I've been trying to export multiple waypoints as a KML file to make a map on Google Earth, but they are not getting saved somehow. Unsure of why that is happening. I've tried exporting it in various formats but 0 waypoints are getting exported. Even when I try and export a single waypoint it is not getting exported. What can I do?

Please help urgently. I have a presentation in a few hours.

Thank you!
Best regards,
Satwiki

I think you suffer from teh same bug as I.  I codes a REXX script to correct a GPX exported by GPS-Essentials.
If that's what your are using, send me a GPX and I'll convert it for you (easy job)

In fact, I see that my REXX calls a Pipeline:
fix:
  parse arg infid
  p=lastpos('.',badfid)
  outfid=left(badFid,p-1) || '-fixed.gpx'
  call rxPIPE 'diskr' infid,
     '!change "<rtept"<trkpt"',
     '!change "</rtept"</trkpt"',
     '!diskw' outfid
But, you can see it is very easy: change rtept in trkpt.

Hello!

Thank you for extending support. I've exported the waypoints as a GPX 1.1 file. Attached here below. Kindly help me with this as I am not very good with technology.

Thank you!

aiai, it didn't work for your track.
It does work for all my tracks.

I had a look inside the file you sent: it is way too small.  No data at all.  Just a header:
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8' standalone='yes' ?><gpx version="1.1" creator="GPS-Essentials/Android/com.mictale.gpsessentials/4.4.64" xmlns="http://www.topografix.com/GPX/1/1" xmlns:x="http://www.gpsessentials.com/ns/gpx-ext/1/0" />

One that I can fix looks like this

When you open that track in Gps Essentials: do you see the track on the map?  I so, then it exists in some format Gps Esssentials understand, then try to export in, different formats and use e.g. Notepad to look at the result: if there are enough data, it probably can somehow be recovered.

Satwiki,

I've never been able to export in that format.  I always get a blank file like you.  Like Kris said if you can see the data in GPS Essentials, then it is not lost.  Try exporting as GPX 1.0 format.  This usually works for me.

I always use GPX 1.1
Yesterday I just retried GPX 1.0 too.  The result contained lots of data.  But just like the 1.1 version, it contained <rtept> tags instead of <trkpt>

I have often exported waypoints as KML  I just gave it another try, saving the waypoints to the cloud (Google Drive).  I downloaded to my PC and opened with Google Earth.  All works fine.

I still have GPS E 4.5.10 and there export in GPX nor KML works.  4.5.11 isn't visible in Playstore yet
I do want GPX as I have other uses for the tracks, for example to match the track locations with the photo's I take on a trip.  I use Geosetter for that job.  This way I can easily add names of cities, countries etc into my photo's.

Well, I know I have had this problem in the past where I get zero data for GPX 1.1 & KLM but not GPX 1.0.  Now of course I can not duplicate it.  GPS Essentials 4.4.64 on Samsung Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960U) .  I did upgrade GPS Essentials not that long ago but I swear I was having that issue after.  Maybe a more recent update fixed the issue.

I usually edit the raw output in TopFusion before bringing it to Google Earth for personal use or QGIS for making maps.  When mapping new trails I like to GPS it at least 3 times then draw a new track using the average.  Especially in the woods the tracks never stack on top of each other as the best I can get is 10ft error and usually more.
