I was just made aware of Common Node [1].

In terms of API, does GPSEE support all low-level stuff as implemented
in Common Node?

This could be a great start to test cross-platform. We could include
narwhal as well although I am not sure I want to sink time into narwhal
as I don't see it going anywhere.

I know nothing of Common Node, but certainly am glad to see they exist.

assert - no, but it's pure JS anyhow, IIRC
console - no, this unratified and has problems
system - yes
binary/b - yes
io/a - This is unratified and has problems
fs - yes, that is fs-base
jsgi - no, but should not be difficult to do in script. We use a CGI interface for our own stuff.
httpclient - This is unratified. Why the heck aren't we just doing XHR?

That reminds me, I have a syslog.js module in the GPSEE-0.3 fork. It should run fine on GPSEE-0.2.  It's an interface very to the Java log interface and close the metal.
