Subject: Inquiry About Antenna Bandwidth and Frequency Adjustability

Dear gprMax community, 

I hope you are doing well. I am currently working with GPR antennas and have some technical questions regarding the following models: https://docs.gprmax.com/en/latest/user_libs_antennas.html

• GSSI 1.5GHz (Model 5100)
• MALA 1.2GHz
• GSSI 400MHz

Could you please provide the bandwidth specifications for these antennas? Additionally, can the operating frequency of any of these models be adjusted to 0.825 GHz, and if it is possible, what other considerations need to be made?

Dear Himan,

You may be able to find the bandwidth of the real antennas that these models attempt to replicate on the manufacturers website. The numerical models should have a similar bandwith which you can calculate by running the models and looking at the frequency spectra of the output. Remember the bandwidth will be affected by the material that the antenna is placed next to, i.e. coupling.
