We have added a MATLAB script to the tools package (tools->MATLAB_scripts->outputfile_converter.m) that allows gprMax output files (HDF5 format) to be converted to common GPR formats. Thanks to Dimitris Angelis for writing and contributing the script. It allows output to be converted to DZT (Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. (GSSI)), RD3 (ABEM Mala), and RD1 (Sensors and Software). The script is a first attempt and has not yet been extensively tested. So we would appreciate feedback, and/or suggested modifications.

Kind regards,

Craig

Hi Craig,

thanks for this info.

as I am not having a Matlab-Lisence, Is there an option to call the convert-script from the gprMax envoiroonment?

Hi Michael,

Maybe OCTAVE will work? I have not tried it but it often does for a number of MATLAB scripts.

Dear Antonis,

unfortunately this script refuses to work in Oktave.
warning: the 'h5read' function is not yet implemented in Octave

Please read <https://www.octave.org/missing.html> to learn how you can

there are some hints at the internet, but I dont't have any link to MatLAB.

Is there an option that anyone here could guide me to get dzt's out of the output-files? if not dzt, any pixel-graphic with 1 px per trace and sample (at 512 smp/trace) would do aswel.

Hopefully,

Micha

Hello Craig and Dimitris,

Thanks for this useful code! It provides an effortless option to upload synthetic data directly into packaged software for data processing and interpretation.

However, according to my trials, the code is not suitable for converting the output files produced by commercial antenna models like GSSI 1.5 GHz, 400 MHz, or MALA 1.2 GHz.  Do you plan to add any feature to the code for this purpose?

Best regards,

Kerem

Dear gprMax developers, I am using gprMAX (I'm a new user). I was wondering where I can find that script that you mention, It will definitely help me a lot in my project. This is my email to get in touch: moises....@gmail.com
