For information (for "Nikon Transfert" software users here).
Nikon Transfert can alter the pictures metada in a way that EXIFTool
(and so GPicSync which uses EXIFTool) can't deal with.
If you still want to use Nikon Transfer, Andrew Kalinowski shares this
useful tip:
"""
I just figured out how to modify my workflow to use GPicSync and
Nikon Transfer. It may be useful tip for other users so, here it goes:
Because Nikon Transfer does not import files from the hard drive but
it does
import from an external drive / camera / card reader;
I simply georeference the files while still on the card and than use
Nikon
Transfer. Works like a charm. Alternately the files can be copied
(using
windows explorer NOT Nikon Transfer) to the harddrive than
georeferenced
using GPicSync than copied back to a memory card and than transferred
again
using Nikon Transfer.
I know that it's a bit odd to insist on using Nikon tRansfer at all
but, I
like the ease with which it adds IPTC entries.
Best regards,
Andrew Kalinowski
