Got question recently on how to use F82375/S82357 with old VEE software especially version 5.0. The reason is old version VEE is using IEEE488/Legacy communication which is slightly different from current IEEE488.2 communication, and some interface just support IEEE488.2 may not able to run under VEE 5.0. So we did some simple test as following to show how to use F82357/S82357 with VEE 5.0 runtime.

I did some simple test with my function generator Agilent 33220A and VEE 5.0 runtime software and here is the setup with my test. (We do not have VEE 5.0 with us, so we have to download VEE 5.0 runtime from agilent.com to do this test, I believe VEE 5.0 and VEE 5.0 runtime should share the same core)

Here is the IO library show, you can see the F82357 has detected 33220A at GPIB address 0.

Then, I opened the VEE runtime 5.0, and added a new instrument with following configuration:

Then, I pressed Auto configure, and the software sent out *IDN to detect the instrument and named with this result, find at33220a@700

And if you press find instrument at the beginning, it will also be able to detect new instrument automatically:
