I'm trying to use the F82357 with OSX.  I have NI Visa 5.4 installed.  The instructions that came with the F82357 say I should install Agilent GPIB Explorer Release.pkg to add Agilent82357B as a passport.  But where do I find Agilent GPIB Explorer Release.pkg?

Thanks

Thanks.  Unfortunately when I run Agilent GPIB Explorer it fails with Error 0xbfff0000, please check driver log!  Not sure where this log is, but I'll have a hunt for it.  I'm running OS X 10.9, so maybe there's an incompatibility?  If so I presume I'm stuck as it doesn't look like Agilent GPIB Explorer is still being developed.

Hi

We have tried the driver under OSX 10.6 and 10.7 and it works. We will try with 10.9 later this week and back to you with result.

You are right, Agilent has stopped developing this driver, and it is still BETA version now for more than one year. I don't know why.

Give me some time to find a macbook with 10.9 system, I will back to you with me test result.

Hello Cheh,

Have you had any success getting the driver running under 10.9?

Thanks,

Kevin

Hello Cheh,

It would be really useful to know if the F82357 will work with OSX 10.9 or not.  If not I'll need to try and sell my F82357 and look for alternatives.

Thanks.

suggestion: get rid of your mac!
It was not designed for such "things"

Hi Mitchell,

We confirmed S82357/F82357 can not run on OSX 10.9, that's because the driver developed by Agilent can only support 32 bit Kernal. And since OSX 10.8, the 32bit kerne lmode was removed from the system. Only 64 bit kernel mode exist. That's why we can not run the driver on new OSX system

Really sorry for this, and we have no way to solve this issue unless Agilent release new driver for their 82357B. I think currently, the only way to use GPIB on OSX is using NI GPIB interface card.

thanks and best regards
