Happy Summer!
We've worked hard through the spring and find ourselves in good
position for the Palo Alto re-launch of Grace.
The piece of biggest news is that we will be MOVING WORSHIP to JLS
Middle School on July 12. I will send out an email to the whole
church later today to share the news.
The whole church will be worshipping here until we go to multi site,
then it will be the Palo Alto site home until we outgrow it, or some
amazing space opens up that is better. We really appreciate the hard
work the building team put into to scouring the area searching for a
location. Needless to say, there weren't many to choose from and JLS
was the best.
This summer we will need help from every team as we settle into JLS.
We will be working on flow, welcoming, community, outreach to the
neighbors, beatifying the worship space, etc. Team leaders will get
more direction from us soon.
A few other things to highlight:
The Site party on June 6 was a smashing success, with over 60 people
attending. One person I just spoke with said attending the party
changed his attitude about multi site to positive.
We will most likely have our next party the weekend of Aug. 15.
Provide whatever input you have for that date.
The church picnic, while an all-church event, was primarily planned
and executed by the PA outreach team; great job folks!
We have had a change of leadership in our outreach group. Jenn Davis
is moving over to the community team and Michael Bloem (with help from
Sarah!) will take over outreach efforts.
The outreach team will be encouraging a few community groups to try a
neighborhood party this summer as well as addressing how we
collectively can show mercy to our near and not-so-near neighbors.
The community team is pushing forward on pioneering our next round of
new-comers groups for late summer, thinking hard about first-time
visitor experience and collecting data about mentoring/discipleship
relationships.
These are just a few things going on. Please email with questions or
ideas.
