Getting the queue length of an actor?

Hi,

I have been playing around with actors and really like the model.

However I persistently run into the problem that an actor may get overloaded with messages, and in this case the symptom is that the queue simply grows and grows an eventually the system runs out of memory.

So I'm curious about:

• can I monitor the length of the queue of pending messages for an actor?
• can I substitute the queue used for a different queue?
