Is there anyway of creating a list of people based on a Flag that was set-up in TMG?  For instance, I have a lot of women French Canadian ancestors who were Filles du Roi (King's Daughters).  I would like to add a chapter to the book explaining who they were and then listing them, possibly in chart form.  In TMG I have those women set to a flag.  Is that something that can be done?  I found the Chapter People-Filtered but none of the filters pertain to Flags.  (p.s. this link is broken: https://gedcompublisher.com/en/filter.htm)

Thanks.

LuAnn,

From Gedcom Publisher’s help page for TMG:

Standard and custom flags

Flag values are imported into attribute values. You may include attribute value(s) in your book using the Person Entry Attribute item. You may also use attribute values to filter people using the Attribute filter term.

The flag name and flag value are converted to the attribute name and attribute value.

If your TMG project has a custom flag named "Reference", you must rename it before using Gedcom Publisher. TMG includes a Reference field, and that value is stored as an attribute value. Duplicate attribute names will cause an error in Gedcom Publisher.

So, you use an Attribute Term in a Filter to select people with a particular TMG flag value.

You may or may not want to use the Chapter People-Filtered item for creating a list of Filles du Roi. If you do that, the person entries for those women will be in the chapter rather than in the chapter with other family members. I suggest you use a List of People item, filtered by the Attribute value.

Re: “(p.s. this link is broken: https://gedcompublisher.com/en/filter.htm)”

It doesn’t help much to tell me a link is broken without telling me where you saw the link…

I'm still not understanding this.  I created a Chapter.  In the chapter
I added a List of People.  Within the List of People, in the Person
Filter section, I clicked on the + symbol and chose Attribute Text.
Where it says Attribute Name I chose my flag.  I have operator as Equals
and Comparand as Y.  It creates a blank page so I'm clearly not doing
this right.

LuAnn,

Did you add a separate List of People User Item, or did you add one of the Chapter People variations and use the built-in LoP?

Do you have a filter on who can be in the book, and does that include the people with the correct flag value?

P.S. I forgot to ask...

If you used a separate LoP, did you add any column items? (No column items, no output.)

I'm still not understanding this.  I created a Chapter.  In the chapter I added a List of People.  Within the List of People, in the Person Filter section, I clicked on the + symbol and chose Attribute Text. Where it says Attribute Name I chose my flag.  I have operator as Equals and Comparand as Y.  It creates a blank page so I'm clearly not doing this right.

I created a new Chapter and name it "Chapter {#} - Filles du Roi"
Then within that chapter I clicked on the green + symbol and added a
"List of People"
In the Edit List of People Item I clicked on the green + symbol and
added "Attribute Text"
In the Add Attribute Text Item, in the Attribute Name, I chose my flag
which is Filles.  The Operator is "Equals" and the Comparand is "Y"
Under Data -> People -> Person Filter I clicked on the green + symbol
and added "Attribute Text" there as well.  Same settings as above.

No.  I didn't add any column items.  I'll try that now.

Yes.  That was the problem.  I can see them now.  Thank you once again John.
