Problems creating book

I’m trying to create a book and am having several problems:
- I added an image to the Cover item. When I make the book, the image covers the whole page, including the text. I tried changing the image size according to the instructions, 1000 x 1600 pixels. However, this made the image even larger.
- When I make the book, I don’t get any info from TMG. My database in on the C: drive. My settings are:
People – via ID#, I added several people that I want to add to the first few chapters (none are living)
Tags – I selected Birth, Buriel, Census, Death, Name, Probate, and Marriage
Format – Bullets
Person Entry – Subject name, Summary, Parent Section, Biography, and Citation List
User Styles – none
Chapter item:
Chapter person #120
Chapter person #121 (These two people are in the People item.)
Image (the image shows up, but no info from TMG)
- Examples show the book with two-page entries, a next page icon to the right, and a dropdown list with the table of contents. Which Reader are they using? Using Calibre, I get continuous scroll-down pages.

One issue at a time. Let’s address the “people inclusion” issue first.
- Close GP if it is running.
- Start GP.
- Open your .gpfile.
- Use the File > Make Book command to make the book.
- Close GP.
- Go to the Documents\Gedcom Publisher\Logs folder.
- Send the Application.log file to me via email. DO NOT SEND TO THE LIST, so don’t reply to this message. Instead, start a new email message and attach the log file to that message. Send the message to my gmail.com email address, jfcardinal.

The “person not included” messages indicate that the filter you added in the People section is not correct. My guess is, you used multiple “ID Number” filter terms, but you did not group them under an “OR” term. So, you have something like this:
Items at the root level of the filter hierarchy are ANDed together. That means all the sibling terms must be true. However, a person has only one ID number, so a person cannot have both ID#2 and ID#3. Here’s how the terms above are interpreted:
So, that won’t work as expected. No one will be included.
Here’s what you want instead:
When items are ORed together, the parent term is true if any of the child terms is true. The filter above will select both ID#2 and ID#3.
Depending on how you want to choose people for the book, you may not even need to specify a filter in the People section. For example, if you will always use ChapterPerson items, then only people who are the subject of a ChapterPerson item will be included. Similarly, if you use ChapterPeople – Filtered items, or combine those with ChapterPerson items, then those will define who is included and the filter in the People section is unnecessary.
