List of People Question

Is it possible to add a List of People table without having all the biographies show? In certain chapters I just want the list. I only get the column headers. If I add the people to the chapter, I get the biographies, but no people added to the table. I have the following:
Descendant of #861
Column Items
Name
Event
Primary or Non-primary
Tag Group Equals Birth
Tag Group Equals Marriage
Tag Group Equals Death
(I can’t find a way to add spouses)
I get the table headers, but no people are added.

If you enable the List of People option that is part of the Chapter People Items, then the list automatically includes the people selected by the Chapter People Item. If you want a different list, then you’d add a List of People Item (by itself, so to speak) to the Chapter.
Does that address what you are asking about?

Not exactly. For some people I just want a list, but no biographies of them. Is that possible? When I try either of your suggestions, I get their biographies.
I was able to figure out how to get headings and some content, but what went into the table was not correct. I chose Descendants of #861. In the table, instead of the Name of each descendant, I get Children of Morris Cohen and Anna Schaffer, and the dates are the same across all columns. How are the contents matched to the columns I chose?

I am not following what you want to do exactly.
- Are you trying to make a List of People and include people who are in the book, but not in the current chapter?
or
- Are you trying to make a List of People and include people who are not in the book?
And
- Are you using the List of People that is a sub-item of a Chapter People Item?
or
- Are you using a List of People that you added to the Chapter directly?

I have to admit that I tried all those options, except the one with people not in the book. I just want a table (List of People) with the descendants (one generation) of one person (that person’s children , with dates and spouses to be in the table) and nothing else about them. Is there a way to do this?

Let me rephrase my earlier questions.
- Are you trying to make a List of People and (A) include people who are in the book, but not in the current chapter, or (B), include people who are not in the book? Answer 1A or 1B.
- Are you using the List of People that (A) is a sub-item of a Chapter People Item, or (B) you added to the Chapter directly? Answer 2A or 2B.
Without those answers, I can’t give you a helpful reply.

I’m not trying to be difficult, but I’m having trouble answering the questions. So far, my book only contains people I have added to chapters via Chapter persons. These are Surname ancestors and their spouses. I now want to add the siblings of some of the nearer ancestors.
So, to try to answer #1 – 1C as they are in the current Chapter using Descendants of.
#2 – 2A which is what I tried originally.
I’m open to changing any of these options.

You must answer 1A or 1B, and you must answer 2A or 2B.
Regarding #1, what you plan to do in the future doesn’t matter. We are trying to diagnose an issue with the current state of the book.
