my probook-battery isn't functioning well anymore. Apparently the battery with HP identificationnumber 805294-001 isn't available anymore. Has anybody knowledge if I can replace it with the HP battery 811346-001? The latter has 55 Wh, yhe original only 44 Wh. Would this cause any problem?

it looks like i have a very bad problem with my laptop probook 4530s. The laptop suddenly shuts down itself while running and when turned on same thing happens after desktop loads. However the battery is more than 60% charged! So if I plug in my charger everything goes fine! I installed HP support assistant and it gave me a message that there is something wrong with the battery it needs replacement! so can anyone please tell me how do i get the correct and reliable and perhaps the original hp battery? i couldnt find it on hp shopping website! and also would third party battery replacements be reliable?

I am using the HP probook 4530s (15.6 inch) laptop and having the same problem with the batteries. Now I want change my battery. Inside my battery cover there is a sticker where it is mentioned that the suitable replacement battery part is 633805-001. I think that is a 6 cell battery. But I want to use 633809-001 (9 cell battery). I believe, the 9 cell battery will give me more backup. Is there any problem in using 9 cell battery instead of 6 cell one? Kindly let me know that.

On the contrary for many modern devices the opposite is true, it is best to keep the charge between 20% and 80%. This is due to the sensitivity of Lithium-Ion batteries to depth discharge and overcharge. However, in most devices control electronics prevent the user from making any grave mistakes. For example, Apple implements a function which charges the battery as fast as possible up to 80% but charging slows down a lot after that. This conserves the lifespan of the battery at the cost of charge time.

This is a question, that is hard to answer, because it depends on a lot of different factors such as CPU, Display, GPU. Usually a 15.6" notebook consumes about 20W when using the battery. A 17" unit can also use a bit more.

You can use this battery in your Notebook without a problem. Both voltages are compatible with your notebook. Differences of up to one Volt between the rated voltage printed on the notebooks original battery and the replacement part are safe. Therefore 14,4 V batteries are also compatible with 14,8 V ones. However, the same is not true for 10,8V/11,1V with 14,4V/14,8V ones.

The difference is due to a different cathode material being used in the battery cells. Using Lithium-cobalt oxide will result in 3,6V per cell while using Lithium-manganese oxide will result in 3,7V per cell.

The manufacturers cannot always print all replacement part numbers on their batteries that will be replaced. The same is true for the notebook models listed on the bill. Some batteries fit into more then 50 different devices.

Is the battery an HP battery? If it is an aftermarket battery there may be some issue with the HP device registering a non HP part. For example, many printer replacement parts can detect non HP components.

If the old battery is recognised then it is most probable a bad battery. I have never had a problem with replacement batteries from other sources than original makers and so I would be a bit surprised if you get that.

Side note: I ran into a whole lot of weird hardware-related errors with HP laptops. During my consulting gig, I dissuaded customers from getting HP hardware, due to the higher volume of issues they experience over their competitors.

For others visiting this post with this product, here is some additional information. Here in the U.S. the HP 15-F211WM notebook became obsolete on March 31, 2016 and will reach its HP end of support life on March 31, 2019.

Both batteries Li-ion have the same voltage (14.8V) but my old one is 40 Wh while the new one is 44 Wh my old one has a capacity of 2550 mAh while the new one is 2850 mAh.So is it safe or not to use my new battery (Produced in china - not original)Edit:Still waiting for answer to the first part. Please try to answer my question then tell me what can cause this issue:When I installed the new battery I smelled a burn near my laptop's fan (For sure not the battery) what can cause this?
