Math Curse is an award winning children's book written by Jon Scieszka and illustrated by Lane Smith. Book published in 1995 through Viking Press, this children's book tells the story of twin boys who are cursed by the way in which math is associated with everyday life. The curse affects their relationship to each other, as well as those around them, and the repercussions of their actions lead to all sorts of complications. Math is so important in daily life, and yet the twins curse each other for reasons that make little sense to them or anyone else. This is a story that is funny and has many elements of science as well as magic and wonder.

One of the main characters is named Ron, and he finds himself in a very interesting position in the middle of a lot of trouble, trying to solve a crime and avoid the police. Along the way he meets Tiffany, a girl who seems to be his best friend. Their friendship is quickly torn apart, and Ron must use his powers of perception and deductive reasoning in order to clear his name and escape the police. Along the way he meets Mutch, who also has a lot of mischievous plans, all of which combine to confront the police force and save the twins.
A good book that will make children feel young again, and will allow them to see the world through the eyes of a child. It is a simple premise and one that I believe author Jon Scieszka accomplished quite well in his book. Highly Recommended.
