FedGeoDay is returning! Mark your calendars for Thursday, January 31 and sign up now at FedGeo.us Thanks to sponsors including Crunchy Data, Mapbox, Radiant Solutions, OSGEO, Azavea, LocationTech and others, registration is only $25 for Federal, NGO and Academic attendees! The purpose of FedGeoDay is to promote and grow our Open Ecosystems here in the Federal City. There is no proprietary software or data company growing these ecosystems -- we in and of these communities have to do it ourselves. Guido Stein (OSGEO US/FOSS4G) and I (Radiant Solutions) are chairing the event and working with a great program committee including Tod Dabolt (US Dept of Interior), Bryan Lane (DNI), Joel Schlagel (USACE), Josh Campbell (ex State Dept/Sand Hill Geo), Anthony Calamito (Mapbox), and Marc Vloemans (Eclipse Foundation/LocationTech).This will be the 3rd FedGeoDay. The first was all about open source geospatial software. Then, in our second event, we included open mapping(OpenStreetMap, etc.). Now we are adding key players from the open science/AI/ML communities. We have a lot of great Federal, NGO and Industry support on the program: Carter Christopher of NGA and Jaye Mathews, new Executive Director of OSM US are keynoting; Tod Dabolt of GeoPlatform/Dept of Interior, Bryan Lane of DNI, Ryan Lewis of In-Q-Tel/SpaceNet, Drew Zachary of US Census Bureau, Josh Campbell (leader in the Disaster Response & Resilience community), and Anthony Calamito of Mapbox are among those leading panels. Please pass along this information to your friends and colleagues. FedGeoDay is a unique event for the Open Geo community here in the DC area, and a wonderful chance for you to network, get programmatic and technical ideas, and learn how to build and grow your programs and projects using open technologies. I look forward to seeing you there!Eddie PickleAmerican Geographical Society CouncilorManaging Director Open Source ProgramsRadiant SolutionsDr. Christopher K. Tucker
