Hi everyone,

Canada published draft commitments for his upcoming 4th Action Plan on
Open Government 2018-20. You can share your feedback directly in the
documents by August 13, 2018:

The OSS ones are in the section "4. Digital government and services":

4.6 Prioritize open source code in development and procurement of
digital solutions
* March 2019 - Encourage departments to publish source code to external
repositories where feasible. Departments should post on GC Code as a
minimum to share internally
* All new projects presented to the Enterprise Architecture Review Board
(EARB)[1] will consider Open Source Software as part of their options
analysis
* September 2018 - A business case for Open Source is published
* September 2018 - A Registry of Open Source Code and Open Source
Software is established
* December 2018 - Source code used in LAC’s Co-Lab crowdsourcing tool is
opened up and available publicly for other institutions to use
* September 2018 - An Open Source Day event is organized
