News Flash! A simple method to Preventing Hantavirus and Norovirus is to practice the 4 Principles of Hand Hygiene Awareness!
Dr. Will Sawyer and Henry the Hand Foundation are challenging YOU and YOUR community to adopt/engage in an effective Hand Hygiene Behavior training program/curriculum that is sustainable preparing students for their future careers and changing adult behavior to reduce ALL respiratory and GI infections.
1. Wash your hands when they are dirty and before eating: Regular handwashing is crucial to remove dirt, germs, and contaminants that can lead to illness. It is especially important to wash hands before meals to prevent foodborne illnesses.
2. Do not cough into your hands: Coughing into your hands can transfer germs to surfaces and other people. Instead, use a tissue or your elbow to cover your mouth and nose when coughing to minimize the spread of germs
3. Do not sneeze into your hands: Similar to coughing, sneezing into your hands can spread infectious droplets. Always use a tissue or your elbow to cover your sneeze, and wash your hands afterward
4. Above all, do not put your fingers into your eyes, nose, or mouth: This principle emphasizes the importance of avoiding contact with the "T Zone" (eyes, nose, and mouth), as these areas are gateways for germs to enter the body. Keeping hands away from the face helps reduce the risk of infections
