I just noticed that the National Criminal Justice
Reference Servie (NCJRS) database will continue
to be available free of charge via the Web. Here's
their announcement:

"Current Highlights

NCJRS Abstracts Database on the Web will remain free of charge

Visit the NCJRS Abstracts Database on the Web! This service will
remain free of charge on the Web. The Abstracts Database
(formerly called the NCJRS Document Data Base) provides summaries
of criminal justice literature - government reports, journal
articles, books, and more. The database was previously available
only on CD-ROM and via DIALOG. "

See http://www.ncjrs.org/homepage.htm

This is welcome news! although I have students who swear the CD-ROM
was better. . . . Your thoughts?
