Thank you to everyone who responded to my question regarding CenStat &
Stat-USA. The information provided will be very helpful to me in setting
our policy. Below is a summary of the responses I received:

The vast majority of libraries maintain a list of passwords at the
reference desk and a staff member logs the patron on. In most cases, the
passwords are available to all reference staff but a few libraries
restrict knowledge of the passwords to the Documents staff.

Quite a few libraries have opted to purchase a Class C license for
Stat-USA to avoid the hassle of signing patrons on.

Several libraries use the browser on Microsoft Explorer because it allows
a site to be bookmarked and accessed without displaying the password.
