The area of consideration is ALL QUALIFIED. Applications will be accepted

Incumbent must operate a government vehicle. A valid state driver's license
is required.
This is a seasonal position, not to exceed 1039 hours. Applicants must
complete and submit a SUPPLEMENTAL EXPERIENCE STATEMENT for Maintenance
Worker Positions and an ABILITY TO DRIVE SAFELY form (available from the
Whiskeytown N.R.A.) with their applications. The period of employment is
anticipated to be from approximately March 30, 1998 to September 30, 1998.
Employment may be terminated at any time due to fluctuations in funding
levels, project needs, employee performance, or other considerations.
Government housing may be available. To claim 5-point veterans'
preference, you MUST ATTACH a copy of your DD-214, Certificate of Release
or Discharge from Active Duty, or other proof of eligibility. To claim
10-point veterans' preference, you MUST ATTACH an SF-15, Application for
10-Point Veterans' Preference, plus the proof required by that form.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs rough to semi-finish carpentry in maintaining buildings. Prepares
interior and exterior surfaces for painting. Applies ready-mix latex, oil,
varnish and lacquer paints to structures. Uses scaffolds and ladders.
Replaces broken windows and window screens. Operates power tools such as
drills, portable saws, table saws, chain saws, and hand tools like
hammers, measuring tapes, squares and levels. Operates vehicle up to
10,000 GVW.
KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS (KASOCS):
1. Knowledge of and ability to perform basic techniques used in carpentry
(including roof repair).
2. Basic knowledge of shop mathematics used in carpentry.
3. Knowledge of latex-based paints, varnishes and lacquers, cleaning
solvents and supplies, plus surface preparation and painting techniques.
4. Ability to use hand and power tools (e.g., saws, drills, paint
sprayers, sanders, hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, measuring tapes squares,
levels).
5. Ability to safely operate up to 10,000 GVW trucks.
