DUE 110797 POC Ellen Kelley, (781) 224-6258. Metcalf & Eddy
International, Inc. wishes to procure the construction services of a U.S.
firm with relevant past experience and good financial standing for the
purpose of constructing the following outlined items in connection with
two projects funded by USAID in Gaza. Contractors will be pre-qualified
and a qualified contractors' list will be established. Contractors
selected as being the most qualified will be placed on the qualified
contractors' list. After establishment of a qualified contractors' list,
an RFP will be issued to the firms on the qualified contractor's list
for the joint requirements of both projects. For the Gaza Wastewater
Project, the work contemplated will include, but will not be limited to
the following: (i) construction of new sewage pumping stations, including
the construction of all buildings, ancillary equipment and structures,
siteworks, and demolition of existing facilities; (ii) construction of
intercepting sewers; (iii) construction of two force mains, including
construction of all necessary washouts, air relief, thrust blocks and
markers; (iv) diversion of sewage flows; (v) expansion of the existing
Sheikh Radwan storm water retention reservoir; including construction of
new inlet structure, construction of access road and peripheral
landscaping; (vi) construction of storm water culverts; (vii)
construction of infiltration and storm water balancing area; (viii)
redevelopment of the existing Railroad Station site for sport and leisure
purposes; including all necessary landscaping. The Gaza Wastewater
Treatment Plant Project, will provide an increase in plant capacity from
the current capacity of 12,000 CMD to 32,000 CMD average daily flow. The
work contemplated on this project will include, but will not be limited
to the following: (i) widening an existing inlet; (ii) construction of a
new anaerobic pond; (iii) modification to the existing aerobic pond;
(iv) construction of a bio-tower feed pump station; (v) construction of
two high rate bi-towers of 26 m diameter and 7.5 m media depth; (vi)
construction of a bio-tower effluent distribution chamber; (viii)
construction of an effluent pump station; (iv) as well as modifications
to an existing facultative pond, an existing effluent pump station, and
existing reuse facilities. Interested contractors may obtain a
