The NAWCAD Air Vehicle Design Group at Patuxent River, MD intends to
procure: Maintenance services for the Helisys 2030E Laminating Object
Manufacturing (LOM) Device for designing new systems and equipment using
Rapid Prototyping. The solicitation number N00421-97-Q-1057 is hereby
issued as a Request For Quotation (RFQ). This new requirement will be
using Simplified Acquistion Procedures (SAP) and will be a
Firm-fixed-Price (FFP) Purchase Order for (1) base year and (1) option
year. The maintenance services are to be performed at NAWCAD Patuxent
River, MD. The anticipated award date is 04 April 1997. The Government
intends to solicit and negotiate the proposed award on a SOLE SOURCE
BASIS with Helysis Incorporated, 24015 Garnier St., Torrance, CA 90505.
Helisys Inc., is the only manufacturer and holds proprietary data
rights/patents/ect. on the LOM Rapid Prototyping Device. This includes
data rights information on machine routine maintenance procedures,
machine operating characteristics, material performance parameters and
parts replacement indentities/intervals and procedures. (0064)
