is soliciting proposals from prequalified contractors for the
construction of a canopy to the north side of an existing building
located in Sacramento, CA. The canopy structure is to be structural steel
frame with metal deck roof system similar to the existing canopy. Two
pair of steel doors will be cut through the existing concrete tilt-up
panels to allow access to the new canopy. The facility may be operational
24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The contractor will be required to
coordinate with the Postal Service in order to avoid interruption to
postal operations at the facility. The work is to be completed in 90 days
after notice to proceed. Estimated range is $200,000-$250,000. This is a
leased facility. The proposal must contain the offeror's overhead,
profit, bonds, insurance, and all other contingencies. No allowance for
such items will be made after contract award. The minority subcontracting
goal for this contract will be 11%. Offers will not be publicly opened.
All proposal information will remain confidential until award. This
solicitation is being issued pursuant to the authority of the U. S.
Postal Service Purchasing Manual, Issue 1 dated 1/31/97. A pre-proposal
conference will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. on June 8th at the site. The
