SOL N61339-00-R-XXX DUE 062600 POC Contact Mr. Jim Wilson, Contract
Specialist, at 407-380-4012. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training
Systems Division is planning a Sole Source Acquisition to L3
Communications Link Simulation & Training (Formerly Raytheon Training
Inc., Repair Services Department) to provide Visual Projection System
maintenance for Device 2F173 (CH-46E) Weapon System Trainer (WST), Device
2F174 (CH53E) located at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, CA,
Device 2F173 and 2F174 located at MCAS New River, NC, and Device 2F161
(UH-1N WST) located at Camp Pendleton, CA. The Contractor shall provide
on-call-engineering services (telephonically and on-site). The Contractor
has established a depot capability to refurbish the T1080 R/C CRT's. The
Contractor is to perform depot level repair of Line Replaceable Units
(LRUs). As the T1080 R/C projection system is a highly sophisticated and
uniquely engineered visual display system which requires highly
experienced maintenance personnel with an understanding of the entire
projection system as well as a strong background in electronics, optics,
and mechanical engineering, the CRT replacement in the T1080 R/C
projector head requires specialized training and equipment and thus
considered to be outside the scope of routine projection system
installation, convergence, alignment, and maintenance. The Contractor, in
conjunction with Government personnel is to perform on-site inspections
of the T1080 Raster/Calligraphic (R/C) Projection System on an "as
required" basis. The support period is to commence immediately upon
contract award for one year with four one-year options that are renewable
each year. This planned procurement action is anticipated to be Firm
Fixed-Price type contract. Those firms having PROVEN complex visual
system maintenance experience on the T1080 R/C Projection System, other
than L3 Communications Link Simulation & Training shall submit their
response in original and one copy to NAWCTSD, Attn: Jim Wilson, address
as indicated in item number 7 of this SYNOPSIS not later than 15 days
from the date of this notice. NumberedNote 22 applies. Posted 05/30/00
(W-SN459826). (0151)
