The Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement for the procurement of
approximately 16 additional F404-GE-402 install and spare engines and
assorted modules for the United States Navy or such additional quantities
as may be authorized by Congress. The anticipated delivery will commence
January 1998. The Naval Air Systems Command intends to negotiate with
General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE), located at 1000 Western Avenue,
Lynn, MA 01910, the designer and developer of the F404-GE-402 engine.
GEAE is the only known supplier possessing the specialized experience and
technical capability to provide the requirements within the required time
