Commission, United States Section, requires the furnishing of labor,
materials, and equipment for the demolition of five wooden storage
structures and the construction of a new concrete-masonry-unit storage
building located in Mercedes, Hidalgo County, Texas. The street address
is 325 Golf Course Road. Major components of the construction work
include: Grading of the site to receive new storage building,
installation of a concrete foundation slab, construction of concrete
masonry walls (CMU), installation of two rolling overhead doors and eight
steel pedestrian doors, construction of a metal roof over plywood
decking, and installation of electrical wiring for lights and outlets,
connection to existing panelboard, and energization. Major componets of
the demolition and disposal work include: Demolishing five existing
wooden buildings (four on blocks and one on a reinforced concrete slab),
and capping and removing water lines, electrical panels, conduits and
conductors. The estimated range of construction is between $25,000 and
$100,000. Tentative dates for issuing and opening IFB 99-03 are July 26,
1999 and August 26, 1999, respectively. Contract performance period is
scheduled at 120 calendar days after issuance of Notice to proceed. Plans
will be available for inspection at the International Boundary & Water
Commission, US Section, 4171 North Mesa, Building C, Suite 224, El Paso,
Texas 79902-1441. Copies of the bid packages are available at no charge.
All requests for bid documents must be in writing, no telephone or
facsimile requests will be accepted. Requests for bid documents must be
sent to the preceding address, ATTN: Colleen Elliott. Requests must
include business name, point of contact, address, telephone number
(include area code), and IFB number. Arrangements can be made for a site
visit, which is highly recommended. Offers are solicited only from small
business concerns. Offers received from concerns that are not small
business concerns shall be considered non-responsive and will be
rejected. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this
acquisition is 1541 for General Contractors' Industrial Buildings &
Warehouses. The small business size standard is $17.0 million dollars in
annual average gross receipts for the past three years. See Note 1.
