Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) is seeking sources for base wide
custodial services. These services include but are not limited to basic
cleaning services (floor maintenance, trash removal, interior
glass/mirror cleaning, drinking fountain cleaning, stairway cleaning,
carpet vacuuming, general spot cleaning, low dusting, chalkboard
cleaning); basic restroom/locker room cleaning services (cleaning and
disinfecting, shower, toilet bowl and urinal descaling, floor cleaning,
restroom resupplying, sofa/chair cleaning); periodic cleaning services
(strip, scrub, seal and wax floors, interior window cleaning, exterior
window cleaning, carpet shampooing/cleaning, high glass cleaning, high
dusting, blind and drapery dusting); emergency or special event cleaning
(emergency cleaning, special event cleaning, special carpet shampooing);
and child development center cleaning. It is estimated that the total
square footage to be cleaned will be approximately two (2) million square
feet. The responses to this sources sought shall address the
applicability of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12,
Acquisition of Commercial Items. Contractors who feel that this
acquisition can meet the definition of a Commercial Service found in FAR
2.101 should provide the following: customary practices regarding
customizing, modifying or tailoring of services to meet customer needs
and associated costs; customary practices, including warranty, buyer
financing, discounts, etc., under which commercial sales of the services
are made; the requirements of any laws and regulations unique to the
services being acquired; size and status of potential sources, customary
practices regarding quality assurance procedures; and any other terms
and conditions that would govern this type of acquisition. The government
is contemplating soliciting for custodial services at Edwards Air Force
Base, California. The duration of this contract with all options is
anticipated to be four (4) years. The Government does not intend to award
a contract onthe basis of this notification or otherwise pay for any
information or inquiry. This synopsis does not constitute a request for
proposal, and is not considered to be a commitment by the Government. All
respondents that can provide any of the requested information should
reply in writing within fifteen (15) days of this publication to Cathi D.
