(202) 326-4160 x3234 Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) has a
requirement for business operations services in day to day operations of
the Premium Accounting System (PAS). PAS processes premium filings and
payments and calculates interest and penalties when premiums collected by
PBGC are paid late or underpaid. "PAS Business Operations" services are
being acquired as a separate function under RFP No. PBGC-RP-98-0005. The
business operations include providing a Bank Lockbox to receive premium
forms and payments and deposit of the payments to PBGC's accounts,
imaging the documents received and processing data from forms through
Optical Character Recognition into PAS, posting the filings and payment
through PAS, answering questions from and corresponding with the Pension
Plans. (Previously announced RFP No. PBGC-RP-98-0001 for the acquisition
of services to both operate and maintain PAS has been modified to
separate the acquisition of the systems functions from the business
functions. RFP No. PBGC-RP-98-0001 is now for "PAS System Maintenance and
Development.") A single award is anticipated under each RFP. The duration
of each contract will be one base period plus four option years. To
