World Hash Events: November 2019

Hello hashers,

November is shaping up to be a huge month of hashing. PANASIA in China first, then MEKONG INDOCHINA in Thailand, then ASIA UNITED in Taiwan. Mixed in with those will be the 2000th run of the Lusaka H3 in Ethiopia and the inaugural running of the Red Dress Run in Colombia. See more below.

As I have mentioned in the past, the Regional Webmasters do their best to track hash websites within a country or continent. Those websites are listed on http://gotothehash.net . . . the Regional Webmasters take on these efforts at no charge, freely volunteering their time so that you can find a hash club during your travels. Most of these regional pages have a link, or an email address that can be used to update this information. Over the past decade, many hash clubs have abandoned traditional websites and moved over to Facebook, so it often makes it hard to find hash clubs. For the benefit of all, mismanagement of each hash clubs is encouraged to provide updates as they occur, and if you are a travelling hasher and find new info, please submit that info to the identified webmaster (or submit to me and I will forward). All traveling hashers will be most grateful. In that vein, we have a new regional webmaster for EUROPE. Pink Panter has stepped up, and done significant research to find all the active links for Europe, and they can be reviewed at https://www.hashhouseharriers.nl/eu-chapters

In The Spotlight - Facebook

As mentioned above, many hash clubs have moved over to Facebook for ease of use and access. There are many problems finding hash clubs on Facebook, if you do not know the exact name of the club, it is hard to search for. Facebook does not do lists very well, since each new post moves down with each new post, often making it hard to find the info. However, Facebook does have some benefits, in connecting hashers.
