Greetings Hashers,

There was an unfortunate death in the hash world . . . a medical student on the island of Grenada went missing on trail with the Grenada H3, and was subsequently found deceased.

https://www.nsnews.com/local-news/missing-north-vancouver-med-student-found-dead-in-grenada-7542521

I urge hashers not to mourn, but to celebrate the life of a fellow hasher gone too soon.  He was not sitting on the sofa watching life go by, he was out making the most of his life.

We do not hash to escape life, but that life does not escape us.

You may have seen my ongoing reports about the status of the long awaited HASH HOUSE in Kuala Lumpur . . . the structure is nearing completion, and this is the latest . . .

Dear Hashers,

We are excited to share with you the great news that our Hash House is nearing completion! After months of hard work, dedication, and collaboration, we are on the cusp of realizing our dream.  However, as we approach the final stages of construction, we find ourselves in need of additional support to complete the roof structure of the Hash House. We are reaching out to each and every one of you, in the hope that you will join hands with us to make this dream a reality.

Our appeal today is for sponsorship of concrete roof tiles, of which we require approximately 6,000 pieces to cover the entire roof. The estimated cost of each tile, including necessary accessories, is approximately RM8 per piece. We are rounding up to RM10 per piece. We understand that this is a significant investment, but together, as a united Hash House family, we can achieve this goal and secure the future of our beloved Hash House.  Your support in this endeavor would not only contribute to the completion of our Hash House but also strengthen the foundation of our community. Our Hash House will be a place of camaraderie, adventure, and shared memories for many of us. By sponsoring roof tiles, you are not only helping to provide a shelter for future generations of hashers but also preserving the spirit and tradition of Hash House Harriers.

We kindly request that you consider contributing to this cause, whether through the sponsorship of a single tile or a larger quantity if you are able. Every contribution, no matter the size, is invaluable and deeply appreciated. We will keep you updated on the progress of our fundraising efforts and the construction of the Hash House.  To pledge your support, please fill out the attached form and return it to us by 21st October 2023. If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact us at 012-2231111.  Let us come together as a united Hash House family to support the completion of our Hash House roof structure. Your generosity will not go unnoticed, and your name will forever be etched in the history of our Hash House.

Confirm your contribution at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScqSpNpyG-tuLi0VTOSNls5iqKHMYKVBg91r7Vz1Bu5tpG-Pg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Thank you in advance for your consideration and support. We look forward to celebrating the completion of our Hash House with all of you.

On-on!

Sincerely,
Dato Christopher Boyd
Chairman

HASH HISTORY: In case you missed them, here are the latest releases . . .

In the Spotlight – Mexico . . . I recently enjoyed a nice visit to Mexico City, and had an excellent trail with the MCH3.  My article is yet incomplete, as we are still looking for documentation of a new fact that the first hash in Mexico may have been in 1975, vice 1983 as currently recorded.

New articles being published often . . .  See them all at http://gotothehash.net/history/inthespotlight.html

Here is a NEW option to receive this monthly email, and new event announcements.  Since some hash clubs are not on FB or track email, here is an option to get it via WhatsApp.  This is a broadcast only group, so you will not need to sort through hundreds of comments to find the real info.  https://chat.whatsapp.com/LhvukcpWvB9L4HIIKCyKav
