Kia Ora . . . Greetings Hashers,

For all those that were able to attend INTERHASH in New Zealand this month, I hope your trip was as amazing as mine was.  It was my second trip to NZ, but first to the South Island, and the conventional wisdom is true . . . South Island is more majestic.  More importantly, once again I want to extend a hearty well done to the organizing committee for hosting an exceptionally good weekend of hashing.  As a quick recap, there were a dozen trails to choose from on both Saturday and Sunday, with something for everyone . . . Majestic views, elevation gain or flat, dirt tracks or wide country roadways, big circles and small.  The venue entertainment was excellent, and some of the skits were quite entertaining (note I said ‘some’ 😉 ).  Was great to catch up with so many old friends.

Here is the trail overview . . . https://www.interhash2024.kiwi/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Queenstown-2024-Trails-Menu-2024-02-07-V3.pdf

Roughly 2000 hashers were registered to attend, and about 1800 turned up.  About 60 days prior to the event (and before many regos traded hands), the distro of attendees looked like this:

USA 37%

Australia 21%

Malaysia 8%

New Zealand 7%

United Kingdom 6%

Indonesia 4%

Brunei 2%

Canada 2%

Germany 2%

Guam 1%

Rest of the World 10%

Final numbers are yet to be calculated, but will be sent out by the overworked committee once they catch their breath.

Concerning the next interhash, there was only one serious bid, so no vote was required.  We are headed back to Indonesia in 2026.  Rego is open now online at https://interhash2026.com
