to everyone in my list
Hello to you! (and you, and you and.........)

I write now from Tamera Healing Biotope in Portugal - a very special place indeed! Some may call it an ecovillage or an eco center, a community living experiment... Some may falsely associate Tamera with a hippy commune or a sect or whatever else...

For me Tamera is a project of hope and of infinite possibilities. Tamera is built upon 30 years of deep investigation into social structures, technology, geistig (spiritual/mental) orientation, and the nature of love, intimacy and relationship.

Soon is an introduction week:

wanna come say hello?

Even sooner is a Permaculture course with the amazing Sepp Holzer from Austria (see below). My last experience with Sepp was amazing! Have a look on the web (youtube and google have lots of info) if your interested... and do consider joining a seminar! Its WELL worth it :-)

And now a bit of an update from me (i know i know its been a while)...

Most of you must know i was living in Copenhagen (for the most part) since 2004 and in 2006 i took an around the world journey which landed back in Copenhagen where I helped to found this company:
http://beta.lila.io

Somewhere in the middle of my stay in Copenhagen (june 2005), an amazing woman walked into my life. Actually I almost fell over at the moment she stopped still and said "hej"... impressively i managed to reply with a rather mesmorized "hej"... and well an hour later (after an intense tai chi session with Thomas Dyhr) I managed to get up the courage to go find her, and to learn that her name was Renate (now Ranatha)... and we grew as friends for 2 long grueling years before all of a sudden a sneaky little strawberry drew our lips together in a surprising and tantalizing way. We were already living together "as friends" and the relationship is flowering and growing in expansive ways... eventually we left Copenhagen together (July 2008) and moved to Isdal, Norway with the amazing http://hestekaren.no  !

Norway was an adventure - not the typical good old outdoors winter camping type adventure - an inner adventure of facing our patterns and self-limiting thought structures and relationship issues... What amazing gifts!

After a surprise visit to Iceland for Christmas we eventually made our way on Feb 19 to Tamera together. Wow, what an experience. Ranatha noticed that I had basically been preparing for Tamera for many months (if not years) even though I didn't know I would visit the place more than a couple weeks in advance :-) So basically we returned to Norway, I bought a VW camper van and moved into it... and drove from Denmark to Portugal...

And here I am. And Ranatha is on her way to join soon...

Livin' Love, and bringin' peace....

till next time!
Joshua

Holzer's Permaculture

Practical Seminars 2009

at the Peace Research Center Tamera, Portugal

3.-10.June / 25.September-2.October / 2.-9.December

Holzer's Permaculture is ecological knowledge for the future.
It places the human being back again at its natural place in its relationship to nature.

Sepp Holzer is an Austrian mountain farmer who has developed his own very specific type of permaculture for the healing of natural cycles. He leads projects worldwide for the renaturization of landscapes. For two years he has been advising and providing support to the Ecology Team of Tamera in the design and construction of a southern European pilot project of landscape healing.

Through life-long research and practical application, Sepp Holzer has acquired an immense knowledge about the implications in nature and the development of biotopes of abundance, and he now promotes a humane and sustainable interaction with the Earth and all its creatures.

Tamera holds Sepp Holzer in high esteem both for his unconditional solidarity for life at large and for his questioning of established doctrines and refuting them with the visible success of his permaculture. “Think naturally, not normally!”

Holzer`s permaculture is large scale landscape healing:

to correct the mistakes of the past,

to facilitate symbiosis of interaction,

to let nature do its work,

and to reestablish cycles.”

(Sepp Holzer)

permakultur

Nature is like a mother. If you treat her well, she will give you everything!”

Each living being knows its task and its place in the whole of creation. There is nothing to be fought against; all things complement and support each other as long as the human being does not interfere. The task of the human is to merely direct, so that the whole can again interact harmoniously and the Earth can unfold her natural abundance, which she then gives away so generously.

Training place: Since the Fall of 2008, Tamera has been Sepp Holzer’s international training place in southern Europe (all seminars in German with translation into English, sometimes additionally into Portuguese or Spanish). The original pilot model in the middle European region is the Krameterhof in Austria (seminars in German).

Theory and Practice: In cooperation with the Ecology Team of Tamera, Sepp Holzer offers seminars at regular intervals. The participants are given the opportunity to study and practice Holzer`s Permaculture in the development of a large scale water landscape project. Each seminar is a live process; its content depends on the time of the year and the actual status of development of the water landscape. A few weeks before the beginning of the seminar, the focus of each seminar is published on www.tamera.org under the section “Ecology.”

General content of all seminars:

- Water management of the land and the construction of water retention spaces for the revitalization and the healing of a landscape, on the premise that water is the basis of all life.

- The development of biotopes of abundance where all things complement each other; the self-supply of humans with vegetables and fruits; mixed cultivation and high beds; soil regeneration by means of support plants and plant communities; and the symbiosis of plant and animal interaction. “Together is better than alone!”

- “Think naturally” and “learn to read the book of nature.” Observation of the processes in nature; recognition of interrelationships and direction to produce natural cycles so that self-sustained systems are able to (again) develop by themselves.

Next Seminar:
Seed harvest and aquaculture
03.–10.06.2009

Presenters: Sepp Holzer and the Ecology Team Tamera.
 Sepp Holzer will
join on 5th of June in the
a
fternoon and stay until the end of the seminar.

Special contents:

1. Seed cultivation and harvest within Holzer's Permaculture

Harvesting and preserving your own seeds is one of the preconditions for self-sufficiency in a food supply and for the survival of the diversity of the regional food plants. Sepp Holzer's experience and unique way in the production and propagation of seeds differs in many ways from mainstream procedures. This seminar will address different vegetables, fruit trees, herbs and medicinal plants, cereals and support plants.

2. Aquaculture: Establishing self-sustaining plant, animal and microbe biotopes in and around the water.

We will add new fish species to large water biotope now under development.

We will experience charting and evaluating already existing biotopes in and around water: How is it done? Which animals are already there? Which are the existing water plant and animal habitats? Which ones are still missing?

Presenters: Sepp Holzer and the Ecology Team Tamera.

Cost of each Seminar: EUR 850.- including lodging (in four-bed Visitors’ Huts with your own sleeping bag) and board (vegan). A room may be available in the Guest House for an additional charge of EUR 20,- per night.

Seminar dates 2009: 3. - 10. June / 25. September - 2. October / 2. - 9. December

Length of seminar: 6 days (the first day is the arrival date and the last day is the departure date).

Registration: Tamera Guest Office off...@tamera.org / Tel. +351 283 635 306
