Character backstory (tell us who your character is, and how he came to
be there tonight):
Calum is an academic at heart, and would be entirely happy to be left
to do fieldwork and research, but that is not his lot. He went to a
minor public school in Scotland, then to St Andrew's University to
study Classics. His parents (Donald and Jean) were both Guardians and
were killed in a werewolf attack about 50 years ago. He was also
attacked and turned by the werewolves at the same time. He worked
originally for a couple of years as a Guardian in the Edinburgh
branch, then transferred to New York. He has spent a lot of time out
over the last few years studying cut off societies, including spending
time in the Amazon jungle and in the Andes. Still plays Rugby when he
has the time. He is very strong in wolf form and has bulked up in
order to be able to deal with trouble when not in wolf form.
Had a very hard time adapting to his lycanthropy originally, but has
learned over the decades to live with it, it's not like he has a
choice.
Weapons: None
Special Skills: Research, Languages including Latin, Greek, Aramaic,
Spanish, Portugese, Tupi, Queschua, Lock picking, filching,
authentication, computer use, Rugby, unarmed combat,
Weaknesses/Vices He's frightened of guns, and not great at confined spaces.
His favourite books are science fiction, he comes across as a bit of a
geek about it, particularly Phillip K Dick, and he thinks Blade
Runner is the best film ever, the original version, not the directors
cut, although the directors cut made a lot more sense of the story.
Most prized book is an autographed 1st Edition of Ender's Game by
Orson Scott Card. He wishes he could play the guitar, but he gave up
after he broke his right wrist playing rugby when he was 19. Not
religious in a conventional sense, has been brought up with a huge
knowledge of comparative religion, and cannot make his mind up to
commit to any single one.
Family His younger brother Rognvald, (pronounced Ronald) who is 3
years younger now looks much older than him, they see each other a
couple of times a year, but it's rather an awkward relationship.
He gets his heart broken about once every 5 years, and considers
himself completely disfunctional in such matters, but it doesn't stop
him wishing.
He is an honest straightforward bloke, very concerned about offending
people, doesn't want to put his foot in it but realises that sometimes
you have to just get on with it and then live with the consequences.
