A brief physical description of your character: Sam Newlander is short
at around 5' 8", he is overweight, but not massively so. He has
thinning fair hair which he has cut quite short and shaves off the
stubble that never quite manages to look like a beard every third or
fourth day. He wears comfortable trainers, loose fit jeans and casual
shirts or polo shirts. He's lived long enough to be willing to spend
money on comfortable clothes, even though he doesn't buy flashy ones.
He has an ear ring and wears a wolf's tooth on a leather necklace. He
has a copper band on his left wrist. He is generally healthy in that
'old people that could live until 80' way rather than in any way buff.
Character backstory (tell us who your character is, and how he came to
be there tonight):
Sam Newlander had a rude awakening to the supernatural when he was 13
and his family home was invaded by werewolves. His mother, step-dad
and step-sister were all slaughtered, his elder brother Michael
Newlander was turned. If the Guardians hadn't arrived in time they
would all have been killed, and they only came because Sam had a knack
with computers and even at that age had managed to hack in to the
Guardians system and used his back door to alert the watch.
Sam's brother took the change badly at first and found controlling the
wolf, and his urge to kill the one surviving lycan who attacked his
'pack', almost impossible to deal with. This was made worse when it
was realised that the lycans who attacked the Newlander household had
not known of the Covenant and so were not deemed to have willingly
broken it, the survivor was given a second chance.
Michael and Sam have become distant over the years as Sam's physical
age quickly caught and then outstripped that of his brother. Sam was
sponsored through college by the Guardians and attempted to make a
life in the normal world with his computing skills, but was never able
to adjust and after a few unsuccessful years drifted back to Jethro
and his operations.
Sam has had decades to hone his computer knowledge and considers
himself an expert at networking, system hacking and Call of Duty. He
has been working in England for the last four years and considers
himself almost used to the poor service and squalor, after all he was
brought up in Queens. He has a small rented house in Deptford.
Favorite weapon: Sam runs. If forced he'll take a lightweight pistol
out of stores, as it's less encumbrance when it comes to running.
Magic abilities: None. Sam has technical real world skills with
computers that border on magical, but he wouldn't consider them that.
