Missing messages restoring mbox from Group to Gmail

Hi

I recently ran GYB restoring an mbox backup from a Google Group to a gmail inbox. It completed "successfully" (according to the GYB) stating "Restoring from 924.56mb file [folder name\mbox file] restoring 1 messages (764) - 100%
done!"

Some of the  restored message can be seen but some cannot be found when being compared to the Group inbox.
We found some messages not by the date that is displayed in the inbox view in the groups interface but by the date of the first message in the message thread date. (if that makes sense). 

Has anyone else experienced this issue when uploading Google Group threads to Gmail messages?
