I updated today to version 1.81. Since then I'm always getting the following error message when I try to run a back-Up

[20347] Error loading Python lib '/var/folders/24/0_1rvdf9743f40x4dvqnc0m00000gn/T/_MEI0aAt9S/libpython3.12.dylib': dlopen: dlopen(/var/folders/24/0_1rvdf9743f40x4dvqnc0m00000gn/T/_MEI0aAt9S/libpython3.12.dylib, 0x000A): Symbol not found: (_mkfifoat)

  Referenced from: '/private/var/folders/24/0_1rvdf9743f40x4dvqnc0m00000gn/T/_MEI0aAt9S/libpython3.12.dylib'

  Expected in: '/usr/lib/libSystem.B.dylib'

ERROR: Failed running GYB for the first time with 255. Please report this error to GYB mailing list. Exiting.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

What version of macOS are you using? What machine type?

It runs on a 2020 MacBook Pro M1 with macOS Monterey 12.6

OK, that's likely the issue then. MacOS 12 was released back in 2021 and Apple will end support for it in November, one way or another you'll need to upgrade soon.

This is all determined by the version of MacOS which GYB is built on. Today GitHub only offers MacOS 14 for Apple silicon (M1, etc) so I literally can't build a version that supports MacOS 12 M1.

You could try running the MacOS Intel version on your M1, that might work since it's still built on MacOS 12 (which GitHub support for Intel CPUs).

But one way or another you're going to need to do an OS update by November or risk running a deprecated, insecure OS.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Jay. The Intel Version solved the problem for the moment, but it looks like I have to upgrade soon.
