This is a newbie question - I have no experience with the command line but I managed to get through all the instructions on the gyb wiki to set up, create a project, authorize, etc., and now I'm working on a restore. I'm using a Mac.

I'm trying to upload an .mbox from Google Takeout (G-Suite) into an empty personal gmail account.

I enter the restore command: ./gyb --email xx...@gmail.com --action restore --local-folder "/Users/path/mbox"
I get the message: Using backup folder /Users/path/mbox
And then the command line appears again

There's no message about the number of messages restoring, no "done!", and nothing further happens. I do get two .sqlite files appearing in the folder where the .mbox archive is stored.

I thought the problem might be that my .mbox archive is 23 GB and my personal gmail account only has 15 GB of space, but I did a test with a much smaller archive (< 1 GB) and got the same result.

What am I missing?

Thanks so much for reading and for any help!

Try specifying:

--action restore-mbox

Thank you! That got me a lot farther using my small test file, but then I got this:

Restoring from 1.15gb file /Users/s....n/desktop/test/mail/All mail Including Spam and Trash.mbox...

Traceback (most recent call last):%

sqlite3.IntegrityError: datatype mismatch

[68350] Failed to execute script gyb

I went back to the wiki and found this:
sqlite3.IntegrityError: datatype mismatch: If you get this when trying to use gyb --email [address] --action restore-mbox --local-folder [folder] then try delete your local folder first.

But I don't understand those instructions - which local folder am I deleting? The one that contains the mbox file? Wouldn't doing so also delete the enclosed mbox file that I'm trying to restore?

Thank you so much for your help!

Try deleting any SQLite file Frome your mbox folder.

Hi Jay,
Thank you so much, that seems to have done the trick!
