Hello all,

I'm trying to restore the backed up folder to a group with this command :

gyb --email xx...@avo.co.il --action restore-group --local-folder GYB-GMail-...@avo.co.il

I'm getting this message :

Using backup folder GYB-GMail-...@avo.co.il
Groups supports restore of messages up to 26214400

do I need to enable something in my settings?
what do i need to type at the command line to route it to a new group that I created?

That's not an error message, it's a statement telling you the max size message Google Groups supports for restores.

Hi Jay Lee,

thank you for your reply.
so what is missing in my syntax to complete the restore action?
gyb --email xx...@avo.co.il --action restore-group --local-folder GYB-GMail-...@avo.co.il

Try:

gyb --action restore-group --email gr...@yourdomain.com --use-admin ad...@yourdomain.com --local-folder GYB-GMail-...@avo.co.il

when restoring to group --email should be the group to restore to while --use-admin is needed to tell GYB which user auth to use.

Could I get assistance? I keep getting a restoring message, error, giving up insufficientpermissions, and I have put the syntax for use-admin but its not prompting me to login with that admin.

I sorted it out. Did not give the proper permissions the original time. Deleting the .cfg file allowed me to re-authenticate it the way it was supposed to, and then it worked.

This was the prompt I used after to get the --use-admin to work as well.

gyb --email s.....@........ca (group email) --action restore-group --local-folder GYB-GMail-Backup-s......@...........ca --service-acount s.......@.......ca (workspace admin account)
