Dear Mr. Dantas,
I just wanted to write you to thank you for your great walk through. It has helped me so much!
In fact, I would suggest it be mentioned in the main project wiki (as there are, no doubt, quite a few coming to GYB now that Google wants to charge folks for their (formally free)
x...@y.com accounts).
A couple of comments:
1. Despite your multiple warnings to be careful which Google profile was selected, I still initially got it wrong. Thinking back, I can offer this insight: When starting the process, I did not expect to be working first on the
x...@gmail.com account, since my intuition was that I would be backing up my
x...@y.com account first. FWIW, adding a few extra lines of explanation, or just a preview of the whole process, would have helped. (But maybe that's just me.)
2. As earlier mentioned by brett, big chunks of this would be helpful to anyone wanting to use this for moving emails from one account to another (not only for those from GSuite). While there may be easier ways to accomplish this without GYB, I know I would prefer to use GYB. Consider this use case: User originally used filters and labels to sort emails for two different projects (Project 1 and Project 2) under one
gmail.com address. Then, Project 2 is assigned to a new person. Original user wants to move (or copy) all historic Project 2 messages to a new account controlled by the new Project 2 leader. If it doesn't take much extra work, I'd love to have directions, based on your walkthrough, as a model, for this, and similar, use cases.
Again, many thanks for your great contribution.
