Seems to be impossible to get it running gyb either restores it to the admins mailbox and or it just says:
Groups supports restore of messages up to 26214400
and did nothing else and stops.

Is that even possible or what do I miss here ?

Don't use two actions. If you are restoring to a group just use restore -group.

Oke but If I just use one action --action restore-group  what I want with --local-folder which is a folder with a bunch of eml files gyb just says Groups supports restore of messages up to 26214400 and exit !?

.eml file extension is not currently supported. Rename the files to .mbox.

Ahh interesting so I was reading this wrong ?
--action restore-mbox

Restore mbox files, that you've exported from Gmail TakeoutGoogle VaultGAM Email Audit Exports or any other MBOX format file you have, or EML files which are text raw data downloaded from Gmail, etc.

  • Before v1.51, it only supported EML files if you renamed them to end with MBOX. For example, renaming external.eml to external.eml.mbox or even just external.mbox (but the latter probably causes to forget it's actually EML).

Use the --local-folder option to specify the path where you've extracted all of your mbox files. GYB will restore messages from all .mbox, .mbx and .eml files in the directory and any sub-directories.

Well ok after batch rename of my eml files to mbox it works but I do get a lot of the following errors - Not sure if I should  trust this way ;-(

400: Unable to parse the raw message - invalid

 - Giving up.

It's a real pain, my current task migrating public folders to google groups, does anybody has an suggestion beside of google migration service  (took decades) to an Google account and then gyb backup and restore to group ?
