Hi Team,

Love the tool and use it extensively to backup user accounts and archive their emails for searching in a group context, but now I would like to do the opposite

Take a backup of a google group, and restore it into a user account

Constructing the command as usual I have

gyb --email <email-of-group> --use-admin <my-admin-account> --action backup however this backs up my-admin-account instead of the group

Is this workflow I described possible?

Thanks!

J

No. Google doesn't offer an API to backup groups thus there's nothing GYB can do to backup groups.

You can try using Google Takeout or Vault to export group messages though.
